Local Area
Coordination
(LAC)
Local Area Coordinators are people employed by the NDIA that link NDIS participants to the services they require, including funding supports. Local Area Coordinators conduct first plan, implementations, reviews and scheduled review meetings as well as build plans for people on the NDIS.

Preplanning is a conversation that an LAC engages with the participant to gather detailed information regarding their situation, current and potential mainstream, informal and community supports, and the impact their disability has on their life. The planning conversation explores the participant’s goals, aspirations, current life circumstances, supports, strengths and abilities to maximise achievement of goals.
