There are a number of disability-related services that do not utilise, or can be used in conjunction with your NDIS plan. These include:
Disability Support Pension
Disability Support Pension is a payment for people with a permanent physical, intellectual or psychiatric condition that stops you working.


The Chronic Disease Management Plan
The Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) (previously known as the Enhanced Primary Care Plan) provides 5 services per calendar year with an eligible General Practitioner referral. These MEdicare rebates for allied health services are for people with a chronic condition and can be used for:

Speech Pathology

Occupational Therapy

Psychology as well as
-
A range of allied health services

Better Access Mental Health Care Initiative
Better Access Mental Health Care Initiative is assistance avilable to patients with an accessed mental disorder taht provides Medicare rebates under a General Practitioner Treatment Plan, Psychiatrist or Pediatrician. It provides up to 10 individual mental health services and up to 10 group allied mental health services per calendar year.

Helping Children With Autism (HCWA) - The Autism Initiative
The Autism Iniitiatve is a funded scheme allolcated by the federal government for children to access early intervention services for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD). It provides rebated sessions that are available once only, and once used cannot be claimed again. To gain access to the scheme one will have to receive a referal by a consultant paediatritian or psychiatrist for allide hleaht services through a Medicare Rebate.

Diagnostic Assessment: up to 4 diagnostic assessment services for children under 13 years of age to assist the referring practitioner with diagnosis to contirbue to the child's treatment and management plan. This can be used with a psychologist, speech therapy, occupational therapist, audiologist, optometrist, orthoptist or physiotherapist

Treatment: up to 20 treatment services fro a child under 15 years to provide a treatment and management plan is in place before their 13th birthday. This includes sessions with a psychologist, speech pathologist, occupational therapist, audiologist, optometrist, orthoptist ro physiotherapist

The Companion Card
The National Companion Card Scheme brings together State and Territory Companion Card programs that enable eligible people with lifelong disability to participate at venues and activities without incurring the cost of a second ticket for their companion. The cardholder presents their card at participating affiliate organisations to purchase a ticket or pay an entry fee and receive a ticket for their companion at no extra charge.

Inclusion & Professional Support Program
The Inclusion & Professional Support Program provides professional development and inclusion support to Australian Government appropriate child care services to include hildren with appropriate childcare providers. Inclusion support helps child care services with additional childcare needs from CALD background, children with a disability and indigenous children.

Community Development Program
The Community Development Program (CDP) is our remote employment and community development service. CDP supports job seekers in remote Australia to build skills, address barriers and contribute to their communities through a range of flexible activities. It is designed around the unique social and labour market conditions in remote Australia and is part of the Australian Government’s agenda for increasing employment and breaking the cycle of welfare dependency.


Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support
Program
Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support Program is a payment that assists employers of eligible Australian Apprentices with disabilities. Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support payments are made to employers who:

Employ an eligible Australian apprentice with a disability who finds it difficult to get an approved apprenticeship because of his or her disability
-
Currently employ an Australian apprentice who has acquired a disability during his or her apprenticeship and needs help as a result.
Tutorial, interpreter, and mentor services are available to Australian apprentices who have been assessed as eligible for Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support and need extra help with their off-the-job training.

Employment Assistance Fund
The EAF gives financial help to eligible people with disability and mental health conditions and employers to buy work related modifications, equipment, Auslan services and workplace assistance and support services. The EAF is available to eligible people with disability who are about to start a job, are self-employed or who are currently working. It is also available to people with disability who need Auslan assistance or special work equipment to look for and prepare for a job. The EAF could help to buy work related modifications and services like:

Special equipment for the workplace*

Information and communication devices*

Auslan interpreting services

Specialist services for employees with specific learning disorders and mental health conditions

Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK)
The Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) system allows people with a disability access to dedicated public facilities, including facilities in National Parks and many Council municipalities, elevators at railway stations, t5hroughoutaustralia People with a disability are able to purchase an MLAK key which will open all toilets, playground equipment and other facilities fitted with a lock that uses the special MLAK cylinder.



Telstra Disability Equipment Program
Telstra's Disability Equipment Program is for customers who are deaf or blind or having a hearing, speech, vision, mobility or dexterity impairment that provides a range of products to help people who have difficulty accessing standard telephone services:
