The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a federal governmental initiative that provides individualised support packages for people with a permanent and significant disability. The NDIS is a government scheme that aims to support people with a disability to build their skills and access the supports they require.

NDIS
Quality & Safeguards Commission
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission is an independent agency established to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services.
They regulate NDIS providers, provide national consistency, promote safety and quality services, resolve problems & identify areas for improvement
The Administrative Advisory Tribunal (AAT)
The Administrative Appeals Tribunal provides independent merits review of a wide range of administrative decisions made by the Australian Government.

The Technical Advisory Team
(TAT)
The Technical Advisory Team (TAT) is a national team that is a part of the NDIA with the primary focus of driving consistency in the application of the NDIS reasonable and necessary decision making framework, tools and operational guidelines. The National Technical Advisory Team functions as one team with the central advisors sharing their expertise across the regional network, delegates and external planning partners..

The National Access Team
The National Access Team makes decisions about whether people meet the NDIS ‘access requirements’ This includes:

Access Request Forms: processing access request forms and

Eligibility: determining whether a participant has adequate evidence of their disability to be eligible for the scheme.

Local Area Coordination
Local Area Coordinators are people employed by the NDIA that link NDIS participants to the services they require, including funding supports. Local Area Coordinators conduct first plan, implementations, reviews and scheduled review meetings as well as build plans for people on the NDIS.

Information Linkages &Capacity Building
The Information, Linkages & Capacity Building Project (ILC) is a program to organise to carry out activities in the community as part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NIS). Through a grants process, ILC pprovides information, linkages and referrals to connect people with disability, their families and carers, with broader systems of support.

Early Intervention
Early Intervention supports assist a participant undertake activities to reduce the participant's future need for support. Early intervention support is available to both children and adults to alleviate the impact of a person's impairment upon their functional capacity by providing support at the earliest possible stage. Early intervention aims to adjust, adopt and build capacity for community resettlement and participation in the community.
