Social skills groups provide a range of strategies that address individual strengths and weaknesses in processing social information to help children learn the skills to make and maintain friends..

Social Skills Groups

In the Nepean Blue Mountains

All Abilities Social Skills Group

The All Abilities Group is run weekly throughout school term at our Penrith office and a 2 – 3 day intensive Social Skills Programs in the holidays. These groups are aimed at children who are often prefer independent play, seem disinterested in making friends or have difficulty making or maintaining friends.

Lifespan Social Skills Class

Lifespan run a social skills groups to develop essential social skills over 2 group sessions at the Wentworth School of Arts. It is facilitated by a speech pathologist and teachers aid.

Nepean Speech & Occupational Therapy Social Skills Program

The NSPOT Social Skills Program is aimed at improving the children’s non-verbal (i.e. eye contact) and verbal communication skills. They aim to teach the children the skills to make and keep friends, manage their emotions and to troubleshoot situations that occur in everyday conversational situations.

Josey Sharp Social Skills Groups

Josey Sharpe Social Skills Groups are run by therapists who offer a range of strategies that address individual strengths and weaknesses in processing social information.  They help children to learn the skills to make and maintain friends. â€‹

Boys on Social Skills 

The BOSS program is a social skills program run by Breakthru for young males who participate in practical and theoretical sessions involving identifying feelings and emotions, social skills, coping strategies for anxiety and bullying, physical health and wellbeing.

Chatterbox Social Skills Groups

Chatterbox social skills groups focus on children's social skill development so that participants learn the rules of societies social expectations.
